About Knife Trick

Knife Trick is a boomer-shooter with advanced movement, weapon comboing, and plenty of build variety.

Story

In this distant future, most of humanity has translated themselves into metal robots, forgoing their human bodies. Waking up without any memories before you got translated, you're hired in indentured servitude to QE-45, a merc op leader hired by Chrome to uncover the secrets buried beneath the surface of Europa and a rival corp's work city, Vision. As you progress, you learn about your past and uncover the dark secrets of the reality you find yourself in, discovering the hidden interests of everyone around you.

Gameplay

Knife Trick takes the best element of recent Boomer-shooters and puts an endless, arena style, horde-slaying twist to it. Drop in and find your knives. Then, slay hordes of enemies by comboing your knives together to destroy targets efficiently. Surviving more waves increases your reward at the end, however be careful as opportunities to extract are limited and dying makes you lose all rewards. When you extract, use the money you earn to buy new gear and spec into the stats most optimal for your playstyle.

Combos

All knives and comboable. Throw a Magnet Knife to group enemies together, follow it up with Explode Knife and do AoE damage on grouped enemies. Throw Bloodthirsty Knife before explode in the combo, and you'll only need one explode knife to kill all low default health enemies clumped by magnet. Knife Trick's combo system is built to be robust, with simple 2 knife combos producing effective results and, if timed right, 4+ knife combos nuking the entire wave. All it takes is a little experimentation and skill.

Advanced Movement

Begin a wall run, transition that into a wall climb without losing momentum, mantle and used the built momentum to reach another wall and continue your movement chain. Knife Trick has a robust advanced movement system that is easy to get into, has a high skill celling, and gives plenty of oppertunites to hit sick clips.

Optimize your Character

Between rounds, use your earnings to buy gear with the stat buffs you want. Want to be a tank? Improve your max health, heath regen between rounds, and health from health pickup. Want to be a movement demon? Buff your parkour speed, base movement speed, and dash amount. Knife Trick's build system lets you buff your character in a system that enables the chase for that power fantasy while presenting trade-offs in a way that actually matters.
